Hello peoples,

Sorry it's been forever since I've updated. I've had a busy fall and then decided to revamp everything. One which includes redoing part of my website. Soon I will be launching a new wedding website. It will include a new blog, which means I probably will shut this one down. I'll keep you posted.

I will be at an upcoming Bridal fair in Feb. More information on that an be found here: http://www.ohweddingsonline.com/

Wow it's been awhile since I've posted here! I didn't realize how fast time flies when you are busy. I hope everyone had a great holiday season.

I of course have some photos to share.

This first part is a senior photo session I did this fall. The gal is the lovely Sam. Sam is very much into music so we had some fun with that.

I recently shot the wedding of Riley and Anna. They got married here locally in the Maumee/Perrysburg area. The statue you see in a later shot of the happy couple kissing is actually of a distant relative to Anna's.

Here is another senior portrait session I have done. I've been slammed lately and have not posted in awhile. This was a fun shoot as the client wanted to do some fun stuff out of the ordinary and gave me free reign. I love those shoots the best as I can go with the artistic flow.

Here are some of my fave pics from a recent senior photo session. This is Allison. She babysits for me often and is a sweetheart. This time I did not drag her out to shoot her but she chose me to be her photographer for her senior year. You may recognize her from some shoots I did awhile back at the salon.

I recently went to Vermont to shoot a wedding with a good photographer friend Jennifer Mardus: http://jennifermardus.com. I was the supplemental photographer but still enjoyed shooting and actually have shot some of my best work ever. She had a larger wedding and didn't want to shoot it alone so she brought me out to help her cover the event.

Here are some of my fave images of the day:

I had made a post awhile back with a prom picture I had manipulated and mentioned I would post some more later. So here is more from that session:

Details...

Photographing the girls was the funnest part. I had them catwalking all over and they kept cracking up trying to keep a serious face. I think they had fun.

So senior portrait session season is on it's way. I decided to revisit a previous shoot to try out some new techniques that I'm interested in using for some senior sessions.

This first one is more funky:

This next one I used more of a vintage approach:

I really enjoy getting into photoshop and having some fun and being creative. I'm always on the lookout for new things I can do to mess with photos.

I was digging for a clients photos from about a year ago when I came accross these from my trip to Montana. I did some new editing to them as I've changed alot in how I edit since I first took them. Coming up in the future I'm hoping to have an online gallery where these types of artistic images can be purchased.

This next one I have two different versions. I couldn't decide which I liked best. You can see how different one photo can be with different artistic approaches.

I was able to get into my tulip edits today. Here are some of the ones I liked. These were taken in Holland, Michigan this last weekend at the start of the Tulip Time festival. More info about this festival can be found here: http://tuliptime.com/

Well I'm back from the tulip trip into Michigan and into my edits already. I don't have the flowers downloaded yet but I do have photos of my new nephew in the works. They lived close by to where I was for the tulip festival. Of course since I was in the neighborhood I stopped by and pulled out the camera. I don't even think I gave them the option of not having me take photos I just sort of went ahead with it. I suppose it's just a given anymore that that's what I do and nobody asks questions. My favorite thing though is the fact that the pieces I do become part of the heirlooms and stories people tell. It's also why I love the candid pieces so much more than the traditional. You can really see someones personality when you cetch them in the moment more-so than a tradtional shot. Seeing pictures of relatives past way down the road after they're gone and seeing some of their spark is a really great thing to have I think. Being the person that captures that spark for them is a great feeling.

Here is my nephew:

Prom
I photographed my god-daughter before her prom. The first shots the parents wanted me to take in the house. I wasn't as thrilled with the results as they seemed plain to me. So I had me some fun in photoshop and thought I'd share the results. (Of course I left some plain for the folks.)

This one I got a bit more dramatic and wanted to look like it went through a ringer:

I later met up with some of her friends and took some more shots. I'll have to share some of those later. . .

Bridal boudoir photography is starting to get popular. What this entails is on the wedding day or beforehand a bride will have her photo taken in undergarments. The photos are sexy yet classy and elegant. A great article I read about it can be found here: http://www.weddingphotographydirectory.com/wedding-photo/for-bride-groom/photography-articles/bridal-boudoir.aspx
This article basically states everything I would want to say about it but much better as being a photographer is my stronger suit than a writer.

I am available for this type of photography and I am female which helps with the ease of feeling comfortable shooting this type of work with someone.

Here are two bridal shots I took just yesterday that are on the sexy side.

I took my neighbor, who also babysits for us, to the salon* to do some shooting. Here is my favorite from the shoot today:

Well the winter season is coming to a close. It's usually a slow time for shooting. Today was warm and beautiful out so I let the kids run about in the front yard. After playing the daily Sudoku puzzle and watching them run about I decided to pull out my camera and warm up for the spring shooting sessions.

Here are a few fun ones.

This first one is of Ben cruisin' on his roll about. He's my shy one. I have a hard time getting great shots of him because as soon as he sees me with my gear he'll refuse to look at me.

This next one is of Tyler. He's Ben's twin. (They are fraternal.) He on the other hand is opposite of Ben and I think he is showing me he is supermodel material here.

This last one if of my eldest, Josiah. He usually is a total ham and makes faces at me then insists that I show him what he looks like on my screen. Here I captured him in a moment where he wasn't as goofy but was having fun playing with me.
