Hello,
I'm Michelle, head photographer and owner of Michelle Ellis Photography. This is my space to show off the latest pieces of work coming out of the studio.
If interested in services please contact me at info@ellis-photo.com.
Thanks for having a look.
I also have a group for brides in Ohio on Myspace here: http://groups.myspace.com/ohiowedding

Some FAQS about me:
Where exactly in the west are you from?
I spent most of my life in Montana. After school I moved to Seattle and was there for about five years. The northwest is the prettiest place I've ever lived in. I miss the scenics but enjoy my life here in Ohio.
So how did you get so far east when you are from the west coast?
I had a long distance relatioship with my husband. We had been friends for a long time in Seattle and then he moved back to his hometown in Ohio. After losing contact with each other for awhile we found each other again and ended up starting a romance. He was more established than I was so I made the move.
What photographic education do you have?
I have always had a knack for the arts. I majored in school for photography/art. I actually had a full ride scholarship at Western Wyoming Community College. My last semester I got really ill and had to drop out. I ended up taking a break fom the whole school thing to discover myself better and get away from the books a little. I'm now back in the game. Most photographers don't have a degree in art or photography. It's more-so if you have the eye or not. I still pursue my studies but I focus more on specific subjects that pertain to what I feel I can gain the most from.
Workshops are my favorite. My most recent one was from Melanie Nashan on wedding photography from the Rocky Mountain School of Photography in Missoula, Montana. She was rated as one of the top wedding photographers By Photo District News magazine. She also has been published in various Bridal mags such as Martha Stewart weddings. It's really cool learning from someone like that in a hands on situation. You don't get that in school so much. They are working in the field as professionals, up with the latest trends and issues.
I also take classes at the local Toledo Museum of Art. I network with other photographers and get feedback from my peers. I enjoy the atmosphere. The people that attend there are there for the subject matter and have good attitudes.
Have you ever been published?
Yes I have. I have been published in the local Toledo City paper a few times. Other publications are the Albany Times Union in New York that featured celebrity comedian Jesse Joyce. I have done stock work for fantasy illustrator Steve Argyle. I have also been published in The Herald, a rpg gaming magazine in Europe, and Echo Immortalis a magazine on midwest gothic culture.
Do you have children?
Yes, I have three children. All boys. One set of twins. And yes they are a lot of work.
Do you shoot film or digital?
I'm a digital shooter. The are are alot more options by going digital for the bride and with editing. It far outweighs what film has to offer. It's also just as archival if not more. I have my prints printed on the same papers. Negs get old and loose color quality a CD won't. If you burn on gold CDs the information actually lasts at least 100 years. I've never heard of a negeative lasting that long. When digital first came out it wasn't as good as film so there's this fear of it not being very great to shoot with. However, with technilogical advances it's just as good. The only thing it doesn't beat so far is the color rendition you find in slide film. Which wedding and portrait photographers never used anyway, they used a portrait grade film which digital does just fine.
Nikon or Canon?
This is a big debate among photographers and I find photographers asking me what I shoot with so I thought I'd include this. I use Nikon. Personal preference. I don't think either brand is better than the other. It's more-so how it feels in your hands.
